Introducing moi!

Hello!
I've been blogging privately (among friends) for as long as I can remember, and as my list of posts grows longer and my addiction to blogs becomes stronger I've been more and more drawn to writing my own public blog. As yet I don't have a manifesto, which I'm sure is terribly unorganised of me - but it could be fun to see where this goes!

I'm big on fashion and the majority of what I read is on the subject. I think in our current economic climate I'm not alone in saying that the labels I covet are far from my budget, but nobody ever got hurt from drooling over Chanel. In a recent interview the Queen of Fashion, Miss Vivienne Westwood herself, said:

"Don't spend money. Just take what you can find, take your old things; keep on wearing them. Don't buy much fashion anymore. But if you do buy it, choose really well, wear it for a long time 'til it sort of drops off your back, it'll get even more wonderful maybe...It's quite self-serving what I say because I do say buy less, but choose well and I just think you couldn't do better than get something from me. But nevertheless, I think it's even better don't buy anything, if you don't buy anything when you do have enough money to buy something maybe you'll have more money than you used to have, maybe you'll have a little pot of money. You really choose something well, don't just keep buying things for the sake of it 'cause then everybody just looks alike."

I have to agree, although I don't live by it myself. I tend to buy a lot of clothes and then never wear them. Although I buy cheaper clothes and accessories I buy so many of them that I probably end up spending more than I would if I bought designer. You can see the full interview with Vivienne here and here.

That's it for now, but I will be back soon with more manifesto-less posts.
